Dixieland 24/7 Weekend Fact Sheet

The Next Generation
The Dixieland 24/7 Weekend is an exciting time for seventh through twelfth graders from Trek 24/7 and Journey 27/7 clubs across the region. Friday night features a Bible Bowl where teams demonstrate their memory and mastery of the Bible and their Awana materials. Saturday features an AwanaGames competition where teams apply their physical strategy and skills while demonstrating Christian sportsmanship.
This year's event will be held March 27-28, 2009 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on the campus of Tennessee Temple University.
Friday Night Lodging
We have arrangements with Comfort Suites, 2431 Williams Street, Chattanooga for accommodations: $64.00 per room; Up to 4 people per room; call (423) 265-0008 ask for the Awana rate.
Important Information
Completed registrations will be accepted on a first come, first paid basis and must be mailed to the event registrar at the address on the form. Team rosters must be turned in at the coaches meeting on the day of the event. You will find the forms in the box on the right side of this page.
When you register, we will need you to provide this data so we can do the best job of serving your needs...
- If your team and any other adults will be interested in buffet breakfast at TTU on Saturday morning.
- Approximately how many (adults and teens) will be staying on Friday evening for Pizza & Ice Cream.
Sorry, Team registrations are non-refundable, unless you notify the Awana Missionary of your inability to compete at least two weeks before your scheduled meet.

- Breakfast at TTU 7-8:30am
($4.50 per person paid at door)

Bible Bowl
- We will use Summit Bible Quiz Rules for this competition and you will find them posted in the box at the upper right corner of this page
- Teams will have 4 seats on stage
- Teams may have up to 4 members with 2 alternates for a total of 6 members
- Trek teams will consist of one to four members per team
- Trek question pool will cover lessons 1.1 - 1.12 of the Dashboard Series Bible Study
- Trek Check, Trek Challenges, and Compass Points are NOT part of the question pool
- Journey question pool will be based on material taught during the 2008-2009 year from:
- Faith's Foundations Two
- Main Study 2 Galations & Ephesians
- No questions will be taken from the introductions to these studies
- Answers will be accepted in three translations: King James, New King James, and New International
- Dress code (this regional rule supercedes the rule book for this regional event):
Awana emphasizes the importance of modesty,
neatness and cleanliness in the apparel worn by both leaders and youth of all ages. Awana
encourages collared shirts and slacks for guys and dresses, skirts or dress pants for girls. No outfits
worn mainly to draw attention. Let’s allow our focus to remain on God and His Word.
AwanaGames
- We will use Summit AwanaGames™ Rules for this competition and you will find them posted in the box at the upper right corner of this page
- The order of events will follow the order of events listed in the rule book, including playoff event order
- Teams will consist of a minimum of 10 (5 girls & 5 boys) and a maximum of 14 (7 boys/7 girls). Churches may co-op to form teams.
- Trek team members must NOT have reached their 15th birthday before September 1, 2008. Fifth & sixth graders may be substituted, however they must have completed at least 10 sections in their manual. (this regional rule supercedes the rule book for this regional event)
- Journey 24/7 team members must NOT have reached their 19th birthday by September 1, 2008, and must be in grades 9 - 12. Trekker’s may be substituted, however they must meet Trek requirements.
